Scientific fact: Why do tears come out when we cry?

Have you ever wondered why tears come out of our eyes when we cry? Today we are going to tell you in detail about the science behind it. Scientists have mainly divided them into three categories. The first category is Basal. In this category comes the non-emotive tears which protect the eyes from dryness and keep them healthy. The second category also includes non-emotional tears. These tears come from a reaction to a particular smell, like a strong smell like cutting onions. Crying tears fall in the third and last category, crying tears come as an emotional response.

Why do tears come out?

According to scientists, there is a limbic system in the human brain that consists of the hypothalamus of the brain. This part is in direct contact with the nervous system, which is signaled by neurotransmitters and we cry when emotion is extreme. During this, many types of reactions take place in the body. It happens in times of happiness and also in times of sorrow. Due to this, many types of hormonal changes also occur in the body, including changes in adrenaline level, etc.

Apart from this, you will be surprised to know that crying is good for our body.  The way the toxins come out of the body when sweat and urine come out of the body, in the same way, the eyes get cleaned even when tears come. Basal tears are 98 percent water, which lubricates the eyes and prevents infections. At the same time, the amount of stress hormones and toxins is highest in crying tears.
