New rules to celebrate New Year in Goa??

In goa, the government has laid down certain rules for tourists to go to New Year's parties and celebrate New Year in restaurants during this Covid. In goa, chief minister Pramod Sawant has said that only people with proof of having been vaccinated by the Govt or proof of not being infected with the covid will be allowed to go to parties or restaurants in coastal areas. He further said that a detailed report will be issued in all the districts by this evening. The government has decided not to implement the night curfew in goa as it could affect businesses during the christmas and New Year periods.

The chief minister said that the covid infection was being monitored and if it increased, a decision would be taken at a meeting to be held on january 3. However, before the start of the New Year celebration, almost 90% of a large number of tourists are staying in hotels in goa, as well as the beach where people are flooded with waves of joy. Airlines, which had been suspended due to the covid epidemic, are now back in service after a long break.

Nilesh Shah, head of Goa's Travel and Tourism Association of goa (TTAG), said bookings at 5 to 7% of hotels had been rejected, but the period was good. Right now 90% of the tourist hotels in goa are occupied and these will increase even more by the New Year. He added, "We are back to normal and traders have started following the rules declared by the government."
