Minority Scholarship Supreme Court to take a stance!

The kerala government has petitioned the supreme court to overturn the High Court's judgement to strike down the 80:20 minority-to-minority scholarship ratio. According to the High court, the scholarship should be awarded based on population. The state does not have the authority to decide on minority scholarships, according to the High Court. The petition filed by the state administration opposes this.
The petition contesting the May 28 ruling regulating the distribution of benefits in accordance to the population was dismissed by a division bench led by the Chief Justice. The review petition argued that the PIL verdict could not have stood without hearing the opinions of the scholarship winners and the surrounding community. This argument, however, was rejected by the court. Benefits should be dispersed based on population and minorities, according to the High Court. The court also ordered that just one type of people should get such benefits.
Currently, a commission led by jb Koshy has been created to investigate the Christian community's educational backwardness. The state government stated in their appeal to the apex court that after obtaining the jb Koshy committee's report, they are ready to provide scholarships based on population.
