The same video was streamed on the South Korean government's YouTube channel. This channel got hacked only after the video was shared.
According to the report, the official channel of the government was hacked on the video-sharing platform at 3.30 pm and its name was changed to 'SpaceX Invest'. The channel featured a live video on cryptocurrencies, which included an interview with American billionaire and SpaceX founder Elon Musk.The YouTube channel got fixed in a few hoursAn official of the Ministry of culture and Tourism, which manages the YouTube account, said that they came to know about it at 6 am. After this, security-related arrangements were made and the account was restored at 7:20 am. The official said that the account ID and password are suspected to be stolen.According to the news agency report, YouTube's parent company google has confirmed that the channel was hacked. A google Korea official said it was currently investigating the cause of the incident. The attack comes after a YouTube channel run by the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) under the Ministry of Tourism was hacked earlier this week.According to KTO, the channel with around 5,09,000 subscribers was initially targeted on thursday and then the next day. This channel is now closed. A KTO official said that if unusual connections are found, google will automatically block access to the account.
