Woman lost lakhs of rupees on FasTag recharge.. Fastag has become the need of every four wheeler driver today. It also has to be recharged from time to time. We should also take many precautions while recharging FASTag, otherwise there is a possibility of getting limped while doing online transactions.
Actually, we are not saying just like this, one such case has come up from mumbai, the financial capital of the country. A 34-year-old female banker from mumbai has become a victim of fraud while doing online FASTag recharge. Online fraudsters have stolen an amount of about Rs 7 lakh from the bank account of a woman banker. The woman has complained about this matter to the mumbai Police.
In fact, the woman was told by her brother that the money in her FASTag was running out, so she has to recharge FASTag soon. After this, the victim went to the Internet to know how she can recharge the FASTag of her vehicle online. On doing a google search, she got a customer care number. Unaware that she was falling victim to a fraud, the woman called the number and was offered help in recharging her card by the person in another way.According to the report, the fraudster then sent a link to click on the woman's phone and proceed with the recharge. On clicking the link, the victim found that an app called 'Customer Support' was automatically downloaded on her phone. The fake customer care executive then asked the woman to open her bank's mobile app and log in to mobile banking. On doing this, the woman got a message saying that the FasTag recharge was successful.However, later the victim noticed that many transactions were taking place in her bank account. Soon, about Rs 6.99 lakh was debited from her bank account. During this, four different payer details were also added on her mobile banking. On discovering the fraud, the woman reached the Cyber police Station, North Zone of mumbai city where the police with the help of the concerned bank managed to stop the transaction worth Rs 2.45 lakh.
