Jewelry worth Rs 3000 crore sold on Karva Chauth, gold cost Rs 3400 more than last year

The sales figure of gold and gold jewelry on the occasion of Karva Chauth across the country stood at around 3000 crores as against Rs 2200 crores on the same day last year. CAT's National General Secretary praveen Khandelwal and IJGF National President Pankaj Arora said that there has been an increase in the sale of gold and gold jewelry across the country.

Compared to last year's Karva Chauth festival, gold was costlier by Rs 3400 per 10 grams, but silver was cheaper by Rs 11 thousand per kg. In Rajdhani, the price of 24-carat gold is Rs 52 thousand and 22-carat gold is Rs 48 thousand per 10 grams. silver is Rs 59 thousand per kg. He said that given the geopolitical fluctuations at the international level, gold prices are likely to increase in the coming times.
