Shiv Nadar steps down as HCL Managing director

Shiv Nadar, the founder of HCL Technologies Ltd who as well functions as Chief technology Officer has submitted his resignation as managing director and as well as the director. 


Shiv Nadar, the founder HCL Technologies Ltd has submitted his resignation from the post of managing director and as well as the director. However, he will continue to be a part of the company. He will assist the company as the Chairman Emeritus and as a strategic advisor to the board for five years with effect from 19 July, the company said. 


The new president and chief executive officer for the company will be C Vijaykumar who will hold the position for the next five years. HCL Tech is expecting the revenue to increase in double digits in the financial year 2021-22 based on the positive demand environment and robust deal pipeline. The firm posted a profit of 3,214 crore rupees for the second quarter which is a 10% increase annually. It falls short by 31 crore to Bloomberg estimates which was 3,255 crore rupees.


Shiv Nadar is 76 years old. He founded the company in 1976 which manufactured the first indigenous computers which eventually evolved into global organisation offering comprehensive services. HCL played a major role in telecom revolution in india with the creation of nokia, largest mobile distribution network.
