CBSE Class 10 Second Board Exam 2026: New Schedule, Rules & Fee Explained
- Main Board Exam: Feb–March 2026
- Result Declaration: april 2026 (expected)
- Second Exam Dates: May 5 to May 21, 2026
- Maths: May 5
- Social Science: May 9
- Science: May 13
- English: May 18
- Hindi: May 21
- Approx. Fee: ₹960 per student (India)
- Late Fee: Additional charges apply in Phase 3
- Fees must be paid within the specified window after results
- Students who appeared in the first board exam
- Students who passed but want to improve marks
- Students with compartment results
- Students who missed 3 or more subjects in main exam
- Students in “Essential Repeat” category
- Improvement allowed in maximum 3 subjects
- Subjects include:
- Science
- Mathematics
- Social Science
- Languages
- Internal assessment marks remain unchanged
- Same syllabus as the main exam applies
- No new students can be added in second exam
- No subject changes after LOC submission
- Same exam centres may be allotted
- No separate supplementary exam (this acts as one)
- Best score (from both exams) will be considered in final marksheet
- First exam → provisional marks (for Class 11 admission)
- Second exam → final marksheet issued
- Marksheet will show:
- Marks of both attempts
- Best score selected
- Reduces exam pressure
- Gives a second chance without waiting a year
- Helps improve scores for better stream selection
- Aligns with flexible learning under NEP 2020
