Chennai: In a major boost to tamil Nadu’s technology and semiconductor ecosystem, KLA India, a subsidiary of U.S.-based KLA Corporation, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government of tamil Nadu to establish a state-of-the-art Research and Innovation Centre in Chennai.

The MoU was signed in the presence of chief minister M. K. Stalin, underscoring the State’s commitment to attracting high-value investments in advanced technology sectors.

3,510 Crore Investment to Strengthen Tech Ecosystem

KLA india has committed an investment of ₹3,510 crore for the proposed facility. The upcoming centre is expected to focus on semiconductor equipment research, advanced engineering solutions, and cutting-edge innovation.

Officials said the investment will significantly contribute to strengthening tamil Nadu’s position as a preferred destination for global technology companies, particularly in the semiconductor and electronics manufacturing sectors.

Employment Generation and Skill Development
