Tamil Nadu chief minister M.K. Stalin has said that software exports are now being carried out from 32 districts across the state, marking a major milestone in the government’s efforts to decentralise growth and expand the information technology sector beyond major cities.

Speaking at a government event related to industrial development, the chief minister noted that tamil Nadu has emerged as one of India’s leading states in the IT and software services sector. He emphasised that technological growth is no longer confined to chennai alone, but has spread to several districts, creating employment opportunities for youth in their own regions.

Stalin said the expansion of software exports across 32 districts reflects the success of the state government’s policies aimed at developing IT parks, startup ecosystems, and wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">digital infrastructure in tier-2 and tier-3 cities. “Our goal is inclusive development. Young people should not be forced to migrate to big cities for jobs. Technology-led growth must reach every district,” he said.

The chief minister highlighted initiatives such as the establishment of new IT hubs, promotion of startups, skill development programmes, and incentives for software and technology companies to invest in smaller cities. These measures, he said, have helped strengthen tamil Nadu’s position as a global destination for software exports.

He also pointed out that the growth of the IT sector has contributed significantly to the state’s economy, foreign exchange earnings, and employment generation. According to him, the government is focused on ensuring that women, first-generation graduates, and rural youth benefit from the expanding wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">digital economy.

Political and industry observers view the Chief Minister’s remarks as an indication of tamil Nadu’s shift toward balanced regional development. By spreading software exports across districts, the state aims to reduce regional disparities while strengthening its global competitiveness.

Concluding his address, stalin reiterated that the government will continue to invest in technology, innovation, and human capital, ensuring that tamil Nadu remains at the forefront of India’s wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">digital and software revolution.
