Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) – PhD Admissions 2025–26
- The online application window opens 20 october 2025 and closes on 8 november 2025.
- A correction window (for editing submitted applications) is scheduled for 9–10 november 2025.
- Admit cards will be issued on 11 november 2025.
- The entrance test for PhD programmes will happen on 15–16 november 2025.
- The result of the entrance test is expected between 27 – 29 november 2025.
- Subsequent steps: submission of research proposal by 8 december 2025, interview/presentation on 10–19 december 2025, and final merit list on 22 december 2025 followed by admission formalities by 23–30 december 2025. Classes are set to start from 13 january 2026.
- You must hold a recognised Master’s degree (or equivalent) in the relevant discipline with a required minimum grade (often 55% or equivalent).
- Some departments may allow MPhil holders or candidates with appropriate research credentials.
- For international students or NRI/foreign nationals wishing to apply for PhD, JMI allows online interviews to reduce the burden of travel/visa.
