Defense Sector: rajnath singh said- The picture of the defense sector changed in the Modi government, India became a global defense exporter
Defense minister Rajnath Singh said on tuesday that India's defense sector has undergone a major transformation in the last 11 years under the courageous and visionary leadership of prime minister Narendra Modi.Now India has changed from an import-based country to a reliable global exporter. He wrote on the social media platform X that these 11 years are a symbol of India's strength, self-reliance, and strong steps taken towards global leadership.
Rajnath Singh said that while defense exports were only Rs 1,940 crore in 2014-15, it has increased to Rs 23,622 crore in 2024-25.Referring to the success of campaigns like 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' and 'Make in India', he said that during this period India has built its first Indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, multi-role combat helicopter LCH Prachand, tejas fighter jet, Brahmos missile, and other important weapon systems.
Rajnath Singh said, 'Today India is exporting defense products to more than 100 countries. Huge investments are being made in our defense corridor and the army is being modernized rapidly.' In another post, he also shared a video showing Operation Sindoor, various military exercises, reduction in insurgency in the Northeast, and Nari shakti in the armed forces.
Rajnath Singh said, 'During the 11 years of Raksha shakti, India's defense capabilities have become stronger than ever. We now have indigenous weapons, modern armies, secure data-borders, and the trust of the world. This is a proud step towards self-reliant India.'
