During the meeting, the leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi formally raised the question and said that 26 tourists lost their lives in this terrorist attack. In such a situation, why was there an absence of security forces in Baisaran? Why were the soldiers not deployed there? Rahul gandhi questioned, andmany other leaders including the leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, and aam aadmi party MP Sanjay Singhalso repeated this question.

The central government said that the Baisaran Valley is usually secured before the start of the amarnath Yatra, which begins in June. Only after this, the official route is opened for the Yatra, and security forces are also deployed to protect the pilgrims, who stop to rest on the way to the amarnath cave.


Local tour operators did not give information about the tourists' travel to the local administration.

According to the central government, local tour operators had allegedly started taking tourists to Baisaran Valley from april 20, much before the security forces were deployed to protect the amarnath Yatra. In the all-party meeting, the government representatives said that the local administration was not informed about the early movement of tourists. For this reason, security forces were not deployed to protect the tourists.
