SIBY JEYYA
One must carry a variety of papers, including a driver's license, voter ID, PAN, and Aadhar, to reside in India. When opening a bank account or operating a motor vehicle, for example, all of these documents are required.

Another document, which we frequently view as the least significant, is a birth certificate. The birth certificate is required for other jobs as well, such as applying for government programs, despite the common misconception that it is only required for admittance. The indian government has instituted a deadline for applying for the document, among other adjustments.

The government has set a deadline to speed up the procedure for those whose birth certificates are still pending. Apply before the deadline if you don't have a birth certificate. Applications for the birth certificate must be submitted by april 27, 2026.

Since the ability to make modifications will be eliminated after april 27, 2026, you can also request corrections if your birth certificate contains any errors before the deadline. Previously, you could only view a birth certificate before turning 15. Now that this restriction has been loosened, everyone over 15 is eligible to apply for a birth certificate. The deadline was previously set for december 31, 2024, but the administration has since changed it to april 27, 2026.

You can go to the government of India's official website at https://dc.crsorgi.gov.in/crs/ if you don't have a birth certificate. must fill up their application and register online. Additionally, those over 15 or wishing to modify their current certificate must apply offline at the local municipal corporation office.
