Court Warrant to arrest South Korean President..!?
A South Korean court has issued an arrest warrant for ousted President Yoon Suk-yeol for declaring martial law. In the east Asian country of South Korea, there was a disagreement between the ruling People's Power party and the opposition parties regarding the budget bill for the next fiscal year. Following this, Yoon Suk-yeol, 63, who was the country's president, recently implemented martial law. The opposition parties and some MPs from the ruling party opposed this. As a result, Yoon Suk-yeol withdrew the emergency declaration within hours. Meanwhile, a resolution was filed in the country's parliament demanding the removal of Yoon Suk-yeol, who declared martial law, and he was removed from office.
In this situation, a South Korean court has issued an arrest warrant for the ousted President Yoon Suk-yeol. Although Yoon has presidential immunity from criminal charges, it does not apply to charges of rebellion or treason.Yoon Suk-yeol's lawyer Yoon Kap-geun said: 'The arrest warrant is illegal. We will file an appeal against this.' He said that prime minister Han Tak, who was removed from office following the president's removal, took over as interim president. It is noteworthy that Finance minister Choi Sang-mak has now taken over as interim president, following his removal from office by parliament last week.
