Yogi government's decision after death of former PM!

Former prime minister of india and leader of indian national congress manmohan singh passed away on Thursday, 26 december 2025. 92-year-old manmohan singh was the prime minister of the country for 10 years. After the death of manmohan singh, the Uttar Pradesh government has declared state mourning. Orders have been issued to all officials in this regard.

The order issued by the Uttar Pradesh government states that by letter number-3/2/2024-Public, dated 26-12-2024 of the Joint Secretary, Ministry of home Affairs, government of india, it has been directed that former prime minister of india Dr. manmohan singh passed away on 26 december 2024 at AIIMS Hospital, New Delhi. In honor of the late dignitary, it has been decided that seven days of state mourning will be observed throughout india from 26 december 2024 to 01 january 2025, both days inclusive. During this period, the national flag will remain half-mast throughout india where it is regularly hoisted and there will be no official entertainment during the period of state mourning.

Additional Chief Secretary issued order

The order said that in the light of the said letter dated 26-12-2024 of the Ministry of home Affairs, government of india, it has been directed to say that in honor of the departed soul, it has been decided to observe state mourning from 26-12-2024 to 01-01-2025. During this period, the national flag will remain half-mast and there will be no government entertainment. Accordingly, please take the trouble to ensure necessary action. Instructions have been issued to all district Magistrates, Divisional Commissioners (Commissioners) through a signed letter issued by Additional Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar.
