Andhra Chief Minister Naidu meets with Prime Minister Modi and requests extra funding

Amaravati/New delhi, Dec 26 andhra pradesh chief minister N. chandrababu naidu met with prime minister Narendra Modi and several central ministers, including amit shah and Nirmala Sitharaman, in delhi on Wednesday, requesting special financial support from the central government. 

chandrababu naidu, leader of the telugu desam party (TDP), a crucial ally of the BJP-led nda government, detailed to the prime minister and his ministerial colleagues the state’s dire financial situation and asked for special assistance. 

The tdp leader, who is currently leading the nda administration in andhra pradesh, informed the prime minister that the past government had utilized the revenue deficit grant intended for five years in merely three years and sought financial help through special measures. 

The chief minister elaborated on the initiatives undertaken by his administration, addressing the financial challenges and related issues. 

While informing the prime minister that the projects of polavaram and amaravati had resumed, chandrababu naidu expressed gratitude for the assistance received to complete these initiatives. 

chandrababu naidu also highlighted to PM Modi the misallocation of funds by the former government that were designated for 94 Centrally-sponsored schemes. He noted that of these 94 schemes, 74 have been reinitiated. 

The chief minister updated the prime minister regarding the establishment of the ArcelorMittal steel plant in andhra pradesh, requesting central assistance for the supply of raw materials for the facility and support in obtaining the necessary permissions as soon as possible, according to a statement from the Chief Minister's office (CMO). 

chandrababu naidu called for the Centre's support in establishing the steel plant within the state by resolving all technical challenges. 

The chief minister presented a copy of the Swarnandhra Vision-2047 document and discussed the objectives set by the State government as part of Vikasith Bharat. He requested the Centre’s collaboration to achieve Vision-2047 and informed the prime minister about upcoming initiatives next month, including the laying of foundation stones and the inauguration of certain projects. 

Subsequently, the chief minister held individual meetings with Union home minister amit shah and Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman, where he thoroughly explained the state's challenging financial situation and his efforts to revive the state's economy. 

He also requested the release of funds from the Centre under various categories and sought special central assistance, considering the state's financial hardships. 

State Finance minister Payyavula Kesav, Union Ministers K. ram mohan Naidu, Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, and Srinivasa Varma, along with party MPs, were in attendance. 

The chief minister had meetings with Union Steel minister Kumaraswamy and Railway minister Ashwini Vishnav as well. 

The tdp leader also participated in a meeting of nda leaders at the residence of bjp national president J.P. Nadda. 

The chief minister began his day by paying tribute to former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Atal Samadhi, accompanied by prime minister Modi, amit shah, and other leaders. 

cm Naidu also took to X to honor Vajpayee on his 100th birth anniversary.

A statesman of exceptional caliber, he advocated for democracy, dialogue, and consensus-building, leaving a lasting impact on India's democratic architecture. His unmatched contributions have influenced the trajectory of our nation’s democratic past and future," Naidu posted.
