The report quoting the Russian civil aviation authority said that the initial investigation showed that the pilot diverted to Kazakhstan’s Aktau after a bird strike on the aircraft led to “an emergency on board”.An azerbaijan Airlines jet with 67 people onboard crashed on wednesday in Aktau city of Western Kazakhstan.
Kazakh authorities said that at least 32 people have survived the crash of the Embraer 190 near the city of Aktau. More than 30 people have been reported dead in the incident. The plane was flying from the Azerbaijani capital Bakuon the western shore of the Caspian to the Russian city of Grozny in the North Caucasus.
A total of 29 survivors, including two children, have been hospitalized, while medical workers said that four bodies have been recovered.
How The crash Happened?
The Azerbaijani airliner was carrying 42 Azerbaijani citizens, 16 Russian nationals, 6 Kazakhstani, and 3 Kyrgyzstani citizens.A report in the said that a bird collision might have played a role in the emergency that led to the crash. Other videos showed part of its fuselage ripped away from the wings and the rest of the aircraft, lying upside in the grass. Some video footage also showed survivors crawling out of the wreckage, with visible injuries.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke to Aliyev on the phone and expressed his condolences, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. Both azerbaijan and kazakhstan have launched investigations into the accident.
