Good news for bus passengers, fares reduced by 20%?
The yogi adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has given a big gift to the people of the state on the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Due to which the fares of air conditioned Janrath and Shatabdi buses running in the state have been reduced. The fares of these buses have been reduced by 20 percent from december 25 by the Transport Department. Due to which the passengers traveling in these buses in the winter season will benefit.
Transport minister Dayashankar Singh has announced this. He said that this initiative has been taken by the Transport Corporation to make SP bus services useful for the public. This will also benefit those passengers who did not travel in AC buses due to expensive fares. But, now they will be able to take advantage of these buses in the winter season.
Reduction in fares of AC buses
In AC Janrath and Shatabdi buses running in UP, one had to pay Rs 163 for a journey of 100 km, which has now been reduced to Rs 145. Whereas in normal buses, the fare is charged at the rate of Rs 1.30 per km. Under this, one has to pay Rs 130 as bus fare for every 100 km distance in normal buses. But after the reduction in the fares of AC buses, now passengers will be able to travel in AC buses by paying just Rs 15 more.
According to the Transport Department, this rate of reduction in fares in AC buses will continue in the winter season. However, later when summer arrives, the old rates will resume. The department believes that this will also increase the number of passengers traveling in AC buses. Not only this, the demand for these buses will also increase during the movement in Kumbh. There are about 608 Janrath buses, 75 pink buses and more than 50 Shatabdi buses in UP. In this way, the fare of about 750 buses has been reduced. Obviously this will benefit the passengers and travelling in AC buses will become easier.
