Delhi HC notice to Arvind Kejriwal and Vijender Gupta
In the case of challenging the election of former delhi Chief minister arvind kejriwal and bjp mla Vijender Kumar Gupta, the delhi High court ordered to present their side before the court in writing. The delhi High court also directed the petitioner to contact the delhi High court Legal service Committee and appoint a lawyer.
On Tuesday, the delhi High court said in this case that the petitioner is not able to argue his case before the court. The petitioner is neither assisting the court properly nor appointing a lawyer for himself. It seems that the petitioner is not serious about his petition. The delhi High court said that notice has not been issued on the petition yet. The next hearing on this matter in the delhi High court will now be held in february 2025.
This money does not come in the expenses of the candidate
On the other hand, Arvind Kejriwal's lawyer told the court that the money spent on the public meetings of the party's star campaigners does not come in the election expenses of the candidate. Let us tell you that the petition has been filed alleging that the expenditure incurred by the candidates during the election campaign has not been properly disclosed to the election Commission.
Both leaders accused of giving wrong information to EC
Actually, the election of former delhi CM arvind kejriwal and leader of Opposition in the assembly Vijender Gupta was challenged by Ramesh Khatri in the year 2020. Both the petitions were listed before the bench of Justice C Harishankar. The petition said that both these leaders have given wrong information about their election expenses. By doing so, both the leaders have violated the Representation of the people Act. Not only this, the petitioner has also demanded from the court to ban both the leaders from contesting elections for the next 6 years.
