39-Year-Old Dental Surgeon Dies After Running Marathon
Hours after competing in a marathon in goa, a 39-year-old dentist surgeon passed away on Sunday.
Bogmalo native Dr. mithun Kudalkar had run in the 20'miler' [32.2 km] division of the annual marathon that takes place in Chicalim village, South goa, near the Zuari River. His wife and their eight-year-old kid survive him. He identified himself as an "avid half marathoner, cyclist, and a club badminton player" on his instagram profile. Dr. Kudalkar chronicled his participation in several half marathons, cycling competitions, and badminton events on social media during the past few years.
He said that his kid complained of some "discomfort" in his stomach and shoulder when he got home after the marathon.
"He claimed to be ill and to want to take it easy. He was laying in bed for almost an hour around 12.30 p.m. After throwing up and drinking some water, he passed out on the bed. All of us in the family are doctors. We attempted CPR on him, but he was not reacting. After we hurried him to a Chicalim hospital, they pronounced him dead. "I believe he had a severe heart attack," he continued.
The goa Badminton Association expressed its sorrow at Dr. mithun Kudalkar's tragic and premature passing in a statement.
He was an avid fitness fanatic who loved running, cycling, and badminton. He inspired many with his passion for health while actively participating in badminton competitions and other sports events, according to the association.
