Myntra Loses Rs 50 Crore to Scammers - 5529 Fraud Orders From Bengaluru
The cheaters would place mass purchases of pricey branded clothing, accessories, jewelry, and shoes, according to the lawsuit. After making the payment, they would claim that the things they received did not match their orders or report that some items were missing from their purchases. Myntra will start the refund process for the defective goods as soon as a request is made via its app or website.
A police officer described the scam to the magazine, saying that if someone ordered ten pairs of branded shoes, they would claim that the package only included five pairs. The remaining five pairs of shoes they purchased would be refunded. According to the police, several scammers who purchased clothing claimed that part of it did not fit their data-size and color preferences and asked for a refund.
According to Sardar MS, a design enforcement officer, the theft was discovered during an audit. He went on to say that although the police encouraged the firm to make a complaint based on the city's incidents, the company wanted to file a complaint for the losses it suffered as a result of fraudulent orders placed nationwide. The Bengaluru police, meanwhile, stated that they are looking into the fraud and believe a Rajasthani gang is involved.
