GRAP-4 has been implemented in the NCR region due to air pollution. Meanwhile, officials have informed that some vehicles are banned in the 8 districts of NCR in Uttar Pradesh. An official said that 'Under GRAP-4, all construction and demolition activities have been banned. Restrictions have also been imposed on diesel vehicles, which include BS-3 and BS-4 vehicles, as well as diesel-powered vehicles older than 10 years and petrol-powered vehicles older than 15 years.'' The Transport Department has started action against such vehicles violating pollution standards. According to officials, district Magistrate Singh has directed uninterrupted power supply in the entire district to reduce dependence on generators.
It was told that the Public Works Department has stopped all road construction activities and both the Agriculture and Revenue Departments have taken action against stubble burning and imposed a total fine of Rs 12,500 on the violators in Baghpat. The 8 districts in which this ban has been imposed include Meerut, Baghpat, Hapur, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Bulandshahr, ghaziabad, gautam Buddha Nagar.
Order to Noida, ghaziabad schools to conduct online classes
The ghaziabad and gautam Buddha nagar (Noida) district administration of Uttar Pradesh on monday night ordered the suspension of direct classes up to class 12 in all schools and said that studies will continue online due to poor air quality in the area. This decision has come after the implementation of the fourth phase of 'Phased Response Action Plan' (GRAP) in the National capital Region.
district Magistrate manish Kumar Verma said in an order, 'In view of air pollution, all the schools in gautam Buddha nagar district are directed to follow the action listed under the fourth phase of GRAP. It is directed that all schools will remain closed for direct classes from pre-school to class 12 till november 23 and will conduct classes only in online mode.' ghaziabad district Magistrate Indra vikram singh issued similar instructions citing severe pollution levels. According to an official statement, Singh said, 'All schools from class 1 to 12 in ghaziabad will remain closed for offline classes and will operate only in online mode till further notice.
