jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren on thursday claimed that the bjp is yearning for power in the indian state like a "fish without water". jharkhand was formed in november 2000 and most of the time the bjp has been in power in the state.

Soren said, "Their (BJP's) leaders have been roaming around the state for the last one year and adopting every trick to get power at any cost. They forgot that power in jharkhand is still in the hands of jharkhand Mukti Morcha, which will never bow down under pressure." Addressing a public meeting in support of JMM candidate Basant Soren in Dumka, he alleged, "Without power, the condition of bjp is like a fish without water (yearning) and the party wants to catch it with money power." The chief minister alleged that the bjp tried to topple the JMM government within hours of its formation in 2019. Soren, the working president of the JMM, claimed, "They tried to lure our MLAs and MPs to execute their conspiracy, but it failed."

'I was implicated in a false case and sent to jail'

"Since they (BJP) failed to form the government democratically, they used central agencies like ED and cbi to harass us. They implicated me in a false case and sent me to jail," he alleged. Soren was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on january 31 in a money laundering case linked to the land scam. He was released from jail after getting bail from the High Court.

Accused bjp of dividing on religious lines

Referring to his return from jail, Soren said, "Today I am among you and standing like a rock to serve you." He accused the bjp of doing politics of dividing people on religious lines. Soren claimed, "They (BJP) failed to provide jobs, solve the problems of poor farmers, labourers, tribals, Dalits and minorities." He claimed that the bjp could not mention a single achievement during its 20 years of rule. Soren also questioned why the election commission was holding assembly elections in the state before the term of his government ends?
