During an interview, when he was asked when he would retire from politics, he said, 'I may stay away from contesting elections, but I will not stay away from party-organization and politics. I have contested elections 14 times. Now we have to focus on the new generation and the party and strengthen it. There are many politicians who do not contest elections, but work for the party, I am known in that capacity.'

Apart from this, during the interview with Aaj Tak, when sharad pawar was asked why uddhav thackeray or anyone else was not projected as the cm data-face by the maha Vikas Aghadi. On this, he said, "There was no need for this, because our combination is for contesting elections. We took this decision so that there is no problem in winning the elections. The decision will be taken according to the number of candidates who win the most in the elections. Even when uddhav thackeray was the chief minister, no one said anything, I myself extended his hand." Pawar also spoke on the fight between the real and fake NCP. On the fight between the real and fake NCP, sharad pawar said, "Ajit Pawar has taken a different line. But, people supported us to work. Only then we were able to win eight seats in the Lok Sabha." Along with this, Pawar further said about rahul gandhi that now the way he talks to people and meets people from different sections of the society, there is a lot of improvement in him as compared to before. On the question of going with BJP, he said that maha Vikas Aghadi will get absolute majority and we will form the government.
