Team india cricketer Manoj Kumar Tiwary shines in the game of cricket. A political leader. As a right-handed batsman, he scored a flood of runs. Occasionally he bowls leg breaks. Tiwary is playing domestic cricket for Bengal. While excelling in cricket, he unexpectedly entered politics and surprised everyone. In 2021, Tiwary joined the All india Trinamool Congress. He contested from Shibpur in the West bengal Legislative assembly elections. He won that position and was elected as a member of the Legislative Assembly. Thus, after stepping foot in the assembly, mamata banerjee appointed him as the minister of State for sports and youth Affairs in the government. He rendered remarkable services in that capacity. He is not only a cricket player but also a successful politician.
He has played for IPL teams like delhi Daredevils, kolkata Knight Riders, Kings XI Punjab, and Rising pune Supergiants. He has also represented india in One Day Internationals and Twenty20 matches. On august 8, 2023, Manoj Tiwary reversed his decision to retire from all formats, just days after announcing it on august 3. He explained that bengal wants one last chance to win the Ranji Trophy in the upcoming 2023/24 season.
Tiwary is an aggressive right-handed batsman. He made his international debut in the 2007–08 Commonwealth bank Series against Australia, where he conceded only 2 runs in his only innings. In 2011, he played in place of yuvraj singh in the west indies tour as Yuvraj suffered a lung infection. Tiwary played in the 4th and 5th ODIs of the series. He was also selected for India's home series against england in October, where he scored 24 runs in the 5th ODI and 15 runs in the single t20 match. Later, he was included in the squad for the ODIs against the west indies in November-December.
