Will HYDRAA Target this Popular Lake in Hyderabad?

The demolition of unauthorized buildings erected by approaching lakes and other water bodies in and around hyderabad last month by hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA) created a stir in Telangana. Due to the Ganesh Navaratri celebrations, HYDRA demolitions were put on hold over the past two weeks. However, word is that the team is getting ready to resume work.
 
The reports claim that HYDRA would concentrate on buildings that were constructed on the famous Hussain Sagar's Full Tank Level (FTL) and Buffer Zone. Many have pushed HYDRA and the government to take action against different constructions, such as Jalavihar and Thrill City, that were created by infringing on Hussain Sagar's territory, ever after the team began demolitions.
 

Numerous individuals, including as the Forum for Better hyderabad, have lodged grievances against Jalavihar, alleging that the park's garbage is being poured into Hussain Sagar Lake and that it is an intrusion. Aziz Pasha, the national head of the cpi and a former MP, lodged a complaint with HYDRA regarding Jalavihar and asked them to demolish it. According to reports, cpi leaders gave HYDRA information on suspected unlawful encroachment from Jalavihar. It was said that 12.5 acres, which are located in Hussain Sagar's FTL and Buffer Zone, were used to build Jalavihar.
 

Jalavihar was constructed in 2007 on property that the government leased for a period of thirty years. In addition to water rides, the park has a function hall. What HYDRA does about Jalavihar and other encroachments near Hussain Sagar remains to be seen.
