The Main Problem with Devara - Koratala Siva Failed Here!
Furthermore, there is not much of a plot, and the entire movie mostly depends on visual effects and buildups. The visual richness or the BGM barely make a difference in the overall experience when the information on screen is bad. A movie this data-size would never have a single "goosebumps" scene. Character introductions and action sequences make up the first half of the movie, and the real turning point occurs right before the intermission. The narrative progresses slowly up until that time, consisting only of action sequences with pirates at sea.
The second half offers a small sense of relief when another dimension of the plot is revealed, and the intermission sequence is passable. That does not, however, imply that this section is particularly interesting or engaging. It's similar to being on a frying pan after being exposed to flames for a while. In the second part, even characters like getup srinu are not employed to good advantage when it comes to comedic relief.
