National Conference (NC) vice-president omar abdullah has once again reacted to the hanging of parliament attack accused terrorist Afzal Guru and mumbai serial blasts convict Yakub Memon. omar abdullah was asked some questions about the hanging of Afzal Guru and Yakub Memon, to which he replied that whatever happened, happened, my answer will not bring them back. Nor will that case reopen because of my answer.
Actually, omar abdullah was talking to The Lallantop in an interview. During this, former cm Abdullah said that the decisions taken by the rulers at that time were implemented. I had no hand in these decisions. Neither in their arrest nor in their warrant, whatever happened, I cannot change it.
‘No purpose was achieved by the hanging of Afzal Guru’
A few days before this, former chief minister omar abdullah had given a statement about the hanging of Afzal Guru. He had said that no purpose was served by the hanging of Afzal Guru. Our government had no involvement in the hanging of Afzal Guru. If the approval for the hanging of Afzal Guru was taken from the state government, they would not have got permission for it. Justifying his stand, Abdullah further said that he is against the death penalty and he does not believe in the infallibility of the courts.
