This Modi Govt Scheme Could Slash Your Electricity Bill
New Delhi: The Prime Minister’s surya Ghar Yojana is making a substantial impact in Samarth Nagar, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, by drastically reducing residents' electricity bills through the installation of solar panels. Under this initiative, local families who previously paid between Rs 10,000 and Rs 14,000 monthly for electricity are now enjoying bills that have dropped to zero. Dr. Gunjan Badarkiya noted that, after installing solar panels, her monthly electricity costs have plummeted from Rs 12,000-13,000 to just Rs 800-900.
The process of installing solar panels has been expedited, and most residents in the area have embraced this change. According to local resident Ketul Vinayak, even with regular use of air conditioning, the solar panels have led to a significant reduction in their electricity bills.
Reduction in High electricity Bills Previously, some households data-faced bills of up to Rs 15,000, but with the new solar installations, these bills have been significantly reduced. A local woman shared that even though it’s been just a month since her solar panels were installed, she has already noticed a substantial decrease in her electricity expenses. She is enthusiastic about the decision and encourages others to consider solar panels for their homes.
Excess Energy Credited to Accounts HV Shah, Executive engineer of Gandhinagar, explained that the surya Ghar Yojana is proving highly beneficial. Residents are installing solar panels up to 10 kilowatts based on their needs, which ensures they do not data-face power shortages. Any surplus electricity generated is credited to their accounts. In a particular society in Gandhinagar, 76 out of 120 households have adopted solar panels, reflecting the scheme’s positive reception.
About the Prime Minister's surya Ghar Yojana Launched in february 2023, the PM surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana aims to provide up to 300 units of free electricity to households by installing solar rooftops. The goal is to equip 10 million households across india with solar panels. The government also offers subsidies to aid in the installation process. The primary objective of the scheme is to reduce electricity costs for families by providing free electricity.
