One Million Indian-Americans are the Target for US Elections
The Foundation for india and indian Diaspora Studies (FIIDS) has started the "Indo-American Votes Matter" campaign in an effort to increase Indian-American voter turnout for the 2018 U.S. presidential election. Their objective is to register one million Indian-American voters and ensure that both main political parties take notice of their opinions.
The campaign wants to see more Indian-Americans participate in the voting process because there are just two months till the election. Even though they make up just 1.5% of the US population, Indian-Americans are very powerful voters since they reside in important swing states. A poll is also part of the campaign to find out what Indian-American voters think about a variety of topics.

With 4.5 million members, the Indian-American population is concentrated in states that are crucial to the result of the election, including Florida, Georgia, Arizona, Virginia, New Jersey, Texas, and California. The Democratic contender for vice president, Kamala Harris, is half-Indian. She will data-face off against Donald Trump, the Republican nominee.
