More than 20 lakh Ganesh pandals set up across the country
National General Secretary and mp of Confederation of All india Traders (CAIT) praveen Khandelwal said that due to Ganesh Chaturthi, economic activity increases in areas like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, tamil Nadu and Goa. CAT National President bc Bhartia said that after a survey conducted by local traders in these states, it has been learned that more than 20 lakh Ganesh pandals have been set up. If the minimum expenditure on each pandal is considered to be Rs 50,000, then this figure becomes more than Rs 10,000 crore.
Expense on idols and worship material will increase
praveen Khandelwal said that the business of Ganesh idols is more than 500 crores. The sale of flowers, garlands, fruits, coconut, incense and other worship material is also close to 500 crores. The sales of sweet shops and household businesses see an increase of more than Rs 2000 crore. Apart from this, due to the organization of big celebrations and banquets by families, there is a business of about Rs 3000 crore on catering and snacks.
Sales of tourism and decoration goods expected to increase
bc Bhartia said that tourism and transport business also get a big boost. There is an increase in demand for travel companies, hotels and transport services (such as bus, taxi, train), whose turnover can exceed Rs 2000 crore. Talking about retail and merchandise, the sale of festival related clothing, jewellery, home decor and gift items can also reach Rs 3000 crore. Apart from this, waste management and environmental services also get a big boost. event management companies will also get a business of about Rs 5000 crore.
