PVR INOX Cheating Movie Buffs ?
Cinema enthusiasts, who sometimes find it difficult to spend 200–300 rupees to view a single film, initially applauded this idea. They paid a small fee to see movies in theaters using this passport. It also greatly aided PVR in growing its audience. However, the public is criticizing PVR for a recent crucial decision on the passport program. PVR recently decided to place some of this program's films under a blackout. Among the movies were Double iSmart, Vedaa, Deadpool and Wolverine, and stree 2. Due to this blackout period, some movies won't be eligible for the Passport during the first week of their release.
Big forthcoming releases including GOAT, Devara, Joker: Folie A Deux, Kanguva, Vettaiyan, Venom: The Last Dance, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Singham Again, Pushpa: The Rule, Game Changer, Mufasa, Baby John, and Sitare Zameen Par are now included in the blackout period. Most people prefer to see these highly anticipated big-budget movies in theaters. Not after the first week, but during the first weekend, is when everyone wants to see these movies.
They feel taken advantage of by PVR if the Passport isn't applicable to certain movies within the first week. Many viewers solely use the Passport in order to avoid paying exorbitant costs for big-budget movies. PVR's decision to impose a blackout period has now rendered the Passport program an underwhelming endeavor. Some have suggested that rather than increasing the number of Passport users, it would further reduce them.
