Bangladesh releases Al Qaeda-linked terrorist group…?
After the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government in Bangladesh, the new interim government took many big decisions which can prove to be a threat to India. The government led by Mohammad Yunus has released Jasimuddin Rahmani, the head of the Al Qaeda-linked terrorist group Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), after which security concerns have increased for india and neighboring countries.
In 2013, Rahmani was sent to jail in connection with the murder of a blogger. This organization promotes the radical ideologies of Al-Qaeda inside Bangladesh. Between 2013 and 2015, 5 bloggers and a professor were killed by this organization. In 2015, Sheikh Hasina's government declared this organization illegal and Rahmani was sentenced by the court. Now Mohammad Yunus's government has released Rahmani.
A matter of concern for India
The release of Ansarullah Bangla Team chief Jashimuddin Rahmani is a matter of concern for india, because people of this organization try to infiltrate India. Some time ago, people associated with ABT were also caught in India. indian security forces arrested many people of ABT. In May 2024, assam Police caught 2 terrorists of ABT at guwahati railway station.
ABT had also planned to carry out several terrorist operations in the northeastern areas of india, for which Pakistan's Lashkar-e-Taiba had cooperated. The biggest concern is that before Rahmani's release, 500 prisoners, including Ikramul Haque alias Abu Talha, the chief operating ABT in india, have escaped from jail. Let us tell you that after the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government, there was a lot of political turmoil in Bangladesh, in which on august 6, the mob attacked the jail and freed the terrorists.
