Pushpa 2 should have ideally been scheduled for release on august 15, which is less than two weeks away. However, due to the postponement, the movie will now be released on december 6, which is still quite some time away. Speaking of this, it was anticipated that pushpa 2 will release in hindi for about Rs 50 Cr nett.
This is in light of the excitement around the sequel and the team's successful round of promotions throughout the hindi belt. But the whole dynamic shifts with the postponement. The prior estimated figures for the movie will no longer be valid. The postponement from january to march caused a significant decline in the opening day forecasts even in the case of RRR. The primary cause is that the buzz was somewhat muted by the delay. pushpa 2 in the crucial hindi belt may be in the same situation.
Given the well-established trend that delays negatively impact box office potential, it remains to be seen if pushpa 2's initial projected gross of Rs 50 crore is a lost cause. pushpa would have been among the greatest debuts ever and would have even broken kgf 2's record of Rs 54 crore if it had debuted between Rs 50 crore and Rs 60 crore.
