INDIAN 2 / BHARATEEYUDU 2 REVIEW - A GIGANTIC MESS
INDIAN 2 is one of the most expected movies of 2024 and the movie is releasing after nearly 5 years timespan. The plot begins where indian (1996) ended and Senapathy is even older. But, director Shankar has other ideas and he decides to show him as Meaner and Stronger(!) despite his age. So, what's the plot? indian Thatha returns after 28 years again to eradicate corruption and did he succeed in it?
First, there is no need to ruin a good movie by crafting an unwanted sequel. The music for “Indian 2” is composed by anirudh ravichander and the BGM works in a few scenes. We repeat "Just a few scenes". ravi Varman's cinematography is top-notch. The recreation of Late actors vivek and venu -Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>nedumudi venu with the help of AI deserves a special mention. And so, those are the positives!
Okay, so indian thatha is back to eradicate corruption and if we expect some new twists as the sequel takes place after 3 decades, they are ages old and make the audience yawn! Director Shankar needs to come out of his shell and his old screenplay structure doesn't work anymore. The routine screenplay style also makes the movie less impactful. The first half of the movie was bearable and the second half was complete 'Sh*t Loaded'.
Siddharth, priya Bhavani Shankar, and rakul preet singh make the movie even more tedious. Thankfully, kajal aggarwal has escaped from this Gigantic Mess. kamal haasan fails to create the same impact and even recreate the nostalgic memories from the 1996 version. Unlike the first installment, indian 2 lacks a fundamental core narrative that elicits strong feelings. Surprisingly, Senapathy's nostalgic part is also somewhat underrepresented. Here, even Kamal's highly praised 'Indian Thatha' outfit from the predecessor is a major letdown. There is absolutely no work by Anirudh.
