What Rajamouli can Learn from Kalki 2898 AD ?

G GOWTHAM
The year 2898 AD has proven to be a great success for Kalki. The movie has done very well, especially in the hindi market, despite receiving mixed reviews. amitabh Bachchan's persona and the mythical theme have struck a deep chord with the hindi audience. The way deepika padukone performed helped the movie go well in the hindi theatres as well.

Even if kalki 2898 AD is not as successful as rrr, its revenue might approach 250 crore and be comparable to RRR's earnings in Hindi. This achievement may be credited to nag ashwin for offering deepika padukone and amitabh bachchan significant roles.

For the hindi public, seeing Bachchan at his peak after so many years was a treat. His amazing action sequences delighted the crowd. Through kalki, the Gen-Z audience of today was able to experience the ecstasy of a legend such as amitabh Bachchan. deepika also landed a part that really brought her talent to life. nag ashwin has created an authentic pan-Indian experience by skillfully using bollywood stars.

On the other hand, ajay devgn and alia bhatt were cast by SS rajamouli in rrr, but they were given small, unimportant roles. With a sizable fan base in Northern B and C centres, ajay devgn had a role that may have been better written and performed to improve the movie's box office results. He still has a lot of emotional pull on large audiences when playing a huge, action-packed part. However, he had a forgettable part in RRR. Furthermore, alia Bhatt's part was illogical and underutilised her potential.

Even with the inclusion of ajay devgn and alia bhatt, rrr largely had the feel of a South movie rather than a pan-Indian movie due to the inadequate development of their parts. SS Rajamouli's films might fare considerably better at the box office if he can cast prominent bollywood stars in his upcoming picture and offer them roles that truly showcase their talent and celebrity.
