Stage set for Revanth-Naidu tete-e-tete - Pending bifurcation issues in focus

N Chandrababu Naidu, the chief minister of andhra pradesh, and A revanth reddy, the chief minister of telangana, will meet here on saturday to discuss outstanding matters about the division of undivided Andhra. On saturday night, the gathering would be held in mahatma Jyoti Rao Phule Praja Bhavan, the government building.

June 2, 2014, was the day of Telangana's creation, after the partition of Andhra Pradesh. Ten years after the split, there are still several unsolved concerns between andhra pradesh and telangana, including the division of assets, State-run institutions, unpaid power bills, and the relocation of remaining personnel to their home states.

According to the andhra pradesh Reorganisation Act of 2014, hyderabad ceased to be the shared capital of both States on june 2. The metropolis now serves as Telangana's sole capital.

Official sources claim that because there was disagreement over several issues, the separation of numerous State-run enterprises and institutions of the undivided State, detailed in Schedules 9 and 10 of the andhra pradesh Reorganisation Act (2014), between the two States, has not been finalized.

The leaders of the opposition BRS at this place asked that the telangana government push for the reunification of some Andhra villages with Telangana. During the split, these villages were combined with andhra pradesh to enable the building of the multipurpose polavaram project.

Naidu took the lead in the negotiations by suggesting in a letter to the chief minister of telangana last week that they meet in person on July 6 to discuss outstanding bifurcation concerns. After applauding Naidu's idea, revanth reddy asked him to a "tete-e-tete" on July 6.

It is known that reddy and Naidu get along well because reddy led the tdp before joining the congress and even held the position of working president for the party's telangana branch. The chief ministers of the two states have met throughout the past ten years to discuss and resolve bilateral concerns.
