According to the father of Agniveer ajay Kumar, who was killed in action earlier this year, he was compensated with Rs 98 lakh. This occurs one day after rahul gandhi, the head of the congress, said in a video that he had not received any payment from the indian army or the federal government.

Defence minister Rajnath Singh was accused of lying on social media on wednesday by rahul gandhi, the congress MP and leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, about the Rs 98 lakh settlement that was given to ajay Kumar's family.

In the video, rahul gandhi is seen meeting the family of ajay Kumar, who assert that they received no financial assistance from the federal government. Charanjit Singh can be heard saying later on the video, "Rajnath Singh stated that we have got Rs 1 crore... As of yet, we have not received any money. rahul gandhi is speaking out in the legislature for us. "All assistance should be given to the families of martyrs, and the Agnipath scheme should be discontinued."

Chaaranjit Singh did concede, nevertheless, in an interview with india Today tv that he had already got Rs 98 lakh in compensation from the Army. "First, we got Rs 50 lakh from insurance, and then we got Rs 48 lakh from the Army." We have already got Rs 98 lakh, and we are certain that the army will provide the remaining Rs 67 lakh to us shortly as well," he stated.
