Will CBN give Rs.10,000 to the Volunteers?

G GOWTHAM

Since the alliance came to power in andhra pradesh, the volunteer system has been in a state of uncertainty. Volunteers, who had hoped to receive a salary of 10,000 rupees, are now concerned about the future of their roles. Comments suggest that the distribution of increased pensions by secretariat employees has raised new doubts among the volunteers.

There are indications that Babu might indeed provide 10,000 rupees to the volunteers but plans to reduce their number by half. The recent efficient pension distribution by 1,30,000 secretariat employees highlights that maintaining a large number of volunteers is more costly than beneficial for the government. Consequently, it appears that the ap government may take steps to reduce the volunteer workforce.

If the volunteer system is completely abolished, it could lead to new problems and complications. Public opposition might arise if the system is dismantled entirely. The coalition government's stance on the volunteer system has not been well-received by the people, and there is a perception that volunteers supportive of ycp will be targeted.

Had the ycp retained power, volunteers would have continued to receive a salary of 5,000 rupees without any issues. Many volunteers had hoped the alliance would increase their wages, but the reality is proving to be the opposite. It would be advisable for the coalition government to make adjustments to the volunteer system and effectively utilize these employees. The village and ward volunteer system had successfully supported the ap government in providing care to COVID-19 patients and assisting the public during the pandemic. Abolishing this system entirely would likely be a misguided decision.
