Samples from pani puri were discovered to include chemicals such tartrazine, brilliant blue, and sunset yellow, which may be harmful to human health.

The food coloring substance Rhodamine-B, which is frequently used in recipes like gobi manchurian and cotton candy, was previously outlawed by the karnataka government. Dinesh Gundu Rao, the karnataka health minister, warned that vendors using these substances in their eateries will data-face severe consequences.
