Karna, a film starring janhvi kapoor and Suriya and directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra of Rang De Basanti, appears to have been shelved by the producers. Department leaders at the production company have been informed that the movie has been canceled, according to a bollywood Hungama report. janhvi kapoor was cast as Draupadi in the ambitious production, which cost Rs 350 crores and was based on the Mahabharata figure Karna. The same source claims that the pre-production and look testing for the film have already cost the producers Rs 15 crores.

The movie, which was financed by Excel Entertainment, was Suriya's first direct hindi cinema appearance and her first time on screen alongside Janhvi Kapoor. Additionally, the report said that the actors ali Fazal, Vijay Verma, and avinash Tiwari had been finalized by the film's directors to play important roles.

It was anticipated that the picture would leverage the legendary epic by employing a lot of spectacular effects and utilizing world-class post-production techniques. The movie was supposed to be released in Tamil, Telugu, and other languages in addition to Hindi. Additionally, it has been suggested that the performers have pursued other endeavors as a result of this grandiose production being shelved. I'm still waiting on an official confirmation on the cancellation, though.
