On tuesday evening, june 18, prime minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and present the 17th instalment of the PM-KISAN initiative. Benefits of over ₹20,000 crore would be given to over 9.26 lakh farmers. In addition, over 30,000 SHGs educated as Krishi Sakhis—who will act as Para extension workers—will receive certificates from PM Modi. "A special event is being planned on the 50 chosen Krishi Vikas Kendras (KVKs), and a sizable number of farmers will be attending. Several Union Ministers will also stop by and speak with the farmers at these centers, according to the statement.
Farmers will receive information on climate-resilient farming, innovative agricultural technologies, and excellent farming practices, according to the ministry.
