Can India give Rahul Dravid the Perfect Farewell?

SIBY JEYYA
Stories abound in India's 2024 t20 world cup campaign. After being absent from the t20 international scene for the whole of 2023, rohit sharma and virat kohli made their comeback. There was also the speculation that one of the two oldest indian hitters would be playing in their final t20 World Cup. hardik pandya had the chance to have a redemption story following the 2024 indian Premier League (IPL) but failed in almost every manner possible.

Add to this the tale of rishabh pant and the uncertainty surrounding the impact he will have, particularly given that the Twenty20 format was his least effective while he was renowned for his aggressive batting in Test cricket. The Board of Control for cricket in india (BCCI) announced on May 13 that it is accepting applications for "the position of Head Coach (Senior Men)" in the middle of all of this.

It implied that barring a change of heart, rahul Dravid's career as India's head coach is set to come to an end. The likelihood of it occurring was extremely low, though, as it was evident that Dravid would not have taken such action without the bcci issuing a statement that was so well publicized.
