Telangana Hyderabad - Rains bring respite to sweltering city

Thanks to cloudy skies and light rain in certain areas in the late evening, city dwellers were able to enjoy a much-needed break from the oppressive heat and humidity that persisted throughout the day. There was moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms and winds in some places, such as Quthubullapur, ECIL, Malkajgiri, Secunderabad, Kukatpally, Musheerabad, Maredpally, Attapur, Balanagar, Borbanda, and Miyapur.
 

Telangana State Planning and Development Society statistics indicate that by 8 p.m. on sunday, Quthubullapur had received 44.8 mm of rain. Meanwhile, Telangana's several districts were affected by heavy rain.
 
There was a lot of rain in Medak, Sangareddy, Kamareddy, Warangal, Siddipet, Jangaon, Hanmakonda, and other districts; in some places, the total exceeded 50 mm. Notably, rain was observed in 62.8 mm at Shankarapatnam in Karimnagar, 56.3 mm at lingapur in Kumaram bheem Asifabad, and 53.3 mm at Harmal in Hanumakonda.
 
Hyderabad's highest temperature on sunday was 40.6 degrees Celsius at 5:45 p.m., with a relative humidity of 74%, according to the india Meteorological Department.
 

For Monday, IMD has issued a yellow alert and forecast thunderstorms with rain, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) in isolated areas of Adilabad, komaram bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and jogulamba gadwal districts.

Up till june 5, a yellow notice for moderate to heavy rainfall has been issued for a few isolated locations throughout many districts of the state of Hyderabad. The city's temperatures are predicted to be between 36°C and 38°C because of the predicted rain.
