Lok Sabha polls phase 7 voting begins - PM Modi among Key Candidates

Voting for the seventh and final round of the lok sabha elections has commenced on 57 seats in seven states and one Union Territory (UT). prime minister Narendra Modi, who is running for a third straight term from varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, is one of the famous candidates. In the last phase of the lok sabha elections, 904 candidates will compete for 57 seats. The vote counting for the lok sabha elections will take place on june 4. The results of the assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh and sikkim will be published on june 2.
 

All you need to know about Phase 7 Voting

• Polling will take place in all 13 seats in punjab and four in himachal pradesh, 13 constituencies in Uttar Pradesh, nine in West Bengal, eight in bihar, six in Odisha, and three in Jharkhand, as well as Chandigarh. This phase will also include voting in Odisha's remaining 42 assembly constituencies, as well as byelections for six himachal pradesh assembly seats.

• In Uttar Pradesh, the election will take place in 13 constituencies, including varanasi, where PM Modi will data-face rivals like as ajay Rai (Congress), Ather Jamal Lari (BSP), and various independents. In Uttar Pradesh, the BJP-led nda will data-face off against the Samajwadi Party-Congress combine.

• Preneet Kaur, Charanjit Singh Channi, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, and Ravneet Singh Bittu are some of the most prominent punjab candidates. For the first election since 1996, the bjp and Shiromani Akali Dal are fighting independently, whilst the congress and AAP have their own candidates.
 
Notable candidates in himachal pradesh include kangana ranaut, Anurag Thakur, and vikramaditya Singh. In bihar, important candidates include Union minister RK Singh, senior bjp mp ravi shankar Prasad, and Misa Bharti.
 

• Karakat in bihar is experiencing a multi-cornered contest, with Bhojpuri celebrity Pawan Singh running as an independent. Other candidates are upendra Kushwaha, raja Ram Kushwaha (CPI-ML), and AIMIM's priyanka Chaudhary.
 
Misa Bharti, the daughter of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former bihar Chief minister Lalu Prasad, is running against bjp candidate ram Kripal Yadav in Pataliputra. ram Kripal won both the 2014 and 2019 elections.
 

• More than 10.06 crore persons, comprising 5.24 crore males, 4.82 crore women, and 3,574 third-gender voters, are eligible to vote in this round. Voters braved sweltering heat to participate in the election.
