Telangana - Widespread food safety violations uncovered in Hotels, Factories

The telangana Food Safety Department has performed further inspections at hotels around the state, revealing extensive breaches of food safety and cleanliness laws.

Hotel Ashoka

An examination of Hotel Ashoka on Thursday, May 30 discovered several major health and safety issues. When health inspectors discovered houseflies in 8 kg of idly batter and 5 liters of boiling milk, they dumped the items. Additionally, synthetic food colors, 11 packets of expired chicken masala, and three bottles of outdated sauce were discovered and thrown.

Cooked food was stored beneath a spiderweb-covered ceiling, and oil leaked from an oil deposit on the roof. Reused cooking oil and expired raw materials were discovered, as well as label problems on numerous food products. Authorities confiscated 17 packages of indian noodles and 28 packets of saunf, taking samples for laboratory testing.
 
Furthermore, food handlers were seen operating without adequate hairnets, aprons, or gloves, which violated hygiene guidelines. In addition, the hotel failed to conspicuously display a copy of its FSSAI licence on the premises.
 

Sri Amogham Foods

Another inspection performed by special teams on Thursday, May 30, at Sri Amogham Foods, Nakkalgutta, revealed fake food colours, and 25 kg of raw chicken and 4 kg of cauliflower were removed owing to safety concerns.
 An additional examination discovered that the FSSAI licence was not conspicuously displayed, and semi-prepared and raw food items were illegally stored in freezers without sufficient labelling, covering or temperature control. The kitchen was open to the outside environment and lacked sufficient pest barriers, as well as dustbins without covers.

Hotel Shreya

On Thursday, May 30, another inspection was carried out at the Hotel Shreya, which is located opposite the bus stop. The researchers tracked the usage of synthetic food colours. They trashed and confiscated 10 kg of raw chicken, 50 rotten eggs, 7 kg of jaggery, 1 kilogramme of damaged cooked fish tikka, and 3 kg of idly batter.
 House flies contaminated the prepared meal, and a fungal infection was discovered on cooked chicken placed in the refrigerator. Reused cooking oil was also detected and disposed of. Due to label problems, the teams seized 60 drinking water bottles and 10 packages of sweet corn.

Anita Dairy Manufacturing Products

On Thursday, May 30, a task force team conducted an investigation of Anita Dairy Manufacturing Products in Pasumamula village and discovered severe infractions.
 
The crew observed that the facility did not show its FSSAI licence, and water stagnation in the manufacturing area generated a persistent foul odour.
Masala buttermilk packets were manufactured without the required licence for this food category, resulting in the confiscation of 12 cartons of raw material labelled 'Tadka paste 09122-01'. Labelling errors were discovered, with the marketer's address provided but no manufacturer's information, which was substituted with a QR code on the packets.

All Rich Dairy Private Limited

Another examination of All Rich Dairy Private Limited has revealed food safety issues. Rust was found on transportation carts, and water stagnation on the floor produced an unpleasant odour in the industrial area. Inadequate insect-proof screens increased contamination risk.
 
The crew discovered food workers without gloves, helmets, or aprons. The facilities did not have an FSSAI licence on display, and the existing licence did not follow FSSAI rules by removing the manufacturer and marketer addresses.
