Managing director of the hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), sudarshan Reddy, announced on thursday that the city was supplied with an unparalleled amount of water this summer—580 million gallons per day (MGD), the greatest amount ever recorded. reddy noted the notable 20 MGD increase in water delivery over the previous year while inspecting the emergency pumping operations at nagarjuna Sagar.

Reddy went on to say that the preventative actions were implemented. "The pumping procedure is running smoothly right now. In a news release, he stated, "If necessary, a second pumping stage will also be started and plans will be made to supply water through pumps." It has been claimed that the drinking water supply for residents in Hyderabad's Old City has been contaminated over the previous few days.

Water that is contaminated can be seen in a video that Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) spokesman Amjed Ullah Khan posted. He said in the tweet that the problem has been brought up for the previous three months and that localities under the Yakutpura assembly seat in hyderabad, including Reinbazar, SRT Colony, Azmath Nagar, and Imambad, are receiving contaminated drinking water. The hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) is accused of not acting upon the complaint despite it being brought up.
