On Saturday, april 27, the prabhas starrer's producers announced that the movie would be released on june 27. During a recent movie event, nag ashwin was questioned about his thoughts on kalki 2898 AD being likened to the hollywood film Dune. In response, the director said, "Yeah! That's because you see sand, I laughed. Anywhere you see sand, it appears to be from Dune."
