Hyderabad has been suffering from oppressive heat for the last week, but early on saturday morning, there was a welcome shower. The much-needed reprieve provided locals with a much-needed break from the extreme heat they had been experiencing in previous days. The india Meteorological Department (IMD) bulletin states that till april 24, the sky in the city is predicted to be mostly overcast with a chance of showers, thunderstorms, or dust storms.

Early on saturday morning, thunder and lighting announced the arrival of rain, which then continued steadily. Showers fell over almost the whole city, giving much-needed respite to places like Saroornagar, Charminar, Uppal, Amberpet, Bandlaguda, and Malkajgiri.

After being sent in to remove obstructions, the Disaster Response Force (DRF) crew quickly cleaned 22 water stagnation spots and catch pits across the city.

Rainfall had an effect on the temperature as well; on saturday, the average maximum temperature is predicted to decrease to 37 degrees Celsius.
